Today is: Jody Brown

I met Jody at Auckland Yoga Academy in New Zealand in 2011 when we were doing our Ashtanga Yoga Teacher certificate training. I still remember the excitement and the yearning inside me which took me to the doors to the Academy.

After the training our path departed and many years passed. We lost touch until I’ve become more active on Facebook again and whenever I posted I saw one of Jody’s post or video.

I love synchronicity. This is one of the guiding force which I love to give significance to. Therefore I loved to see that the interest of both of us turned toward embodiment practices.

I really feel that since I have started to get familiar with the newest brain science reserches which led me the realization of the great need of healing our Nervous System, a new kind of understanding started to emerge into my life.

I become a mother in 2018 at age 40 after 10 years of intense Ashtanga practice. During the years leading me to my pregnancy a great need inside me was building up which was to blend into my teaching all I have been learning as a woman and all I know about the feminine wisdom traditions. This life quest was arising from the organic need of understanding my own patterns and ancestral inheritance of what does it mean to be a mother and why did I not get pregnant if all circumstances were set.

I have healed many aspects of my personality, but little I have known how deep one inner world really is.

As I have been preparing to my interview with Jody I’ve noticed with excitement Jody’s Somatic Dance Journey class on Sunday 4th August in which she shares her embodiment of 5Rhythms and Open Floor Dance experiences! This is an other syncronicity in the subjects of our interests.

I have been offering classes in which I combine yoga and dance since 2012. Dance is being the part of my life as it was a part of my mother as well. As I talk to women after my classes I learnt that how important spiritual practice dance is for woman! It is a clue, it is a healing tool, it is a spirit medicine.

I know 5Rhythms dance from my days back on Waiheke Island where I had a chance to try this kind of dance as well as I know Gaga which I just get to try a few mouth ago but instantly felt in love with! So as a lover of movement and great music I am eager to hear about Jody’s offering as well as learning about what Open Floor Dance is!

These days after almost 6 years after that I’d passed the treshold of becoming a mother I have been cherishing a dream of creating a circle of woman who cultivate the commitment of healing through joy.

The enlightening feeling is that now I feel in all my cells that I am on the right path as I listen to the wisperings of my soul and give credit to them.

These days I experience many times great descends in my mood, or in my energies but I have learnt to tune into the forces of the moon and therefore I am not surprised but reassured. These days I experience many times pain, sorrow and grief and certein times strong current of fear rushing through my system but now I know that all birthing pocess has these everchallenging qualities.

Now I know that the dark phases of inner and outher cycles has their own well earned place in the feminine path and if we welcome all these parts in our healing modalities we gain a greater sense of well being in which our wildest dreams can come true.

I cannot wait to catch up with Jody through our upcoming talk in my Podcast. Since that time chek out Jody’s FB page, where you will find all the inspirational posts she writes and events she creates!
