Today is full moon (24th of February, 2024)! This is a very good day to set a new direction for the new lunar month, and to create it consciously, that is, by keeping your pure intentions in your mind, heart and actions.
During the full moon, the lunar energies are most suitable for receiving the energies of creation. Give thanks for everything that brings joy, happiness and opportunities for expansion into your life. Focus on the good, so to speak, because the power of the full moon increases the power of directed attention!
Since I’m dedicating this whole year to support all women, including myself, to return to the conscious use of the moon’s powers, will there be time for me to tell you what I do at the new moon?! I would also like to share what it is worth doing in the different phases of the moon, how it is worth bringing external activities into line with our inner motives and providing them with a supporting force through the power of the moon!

I think it is important to highlight the importance of the full moon rituals, because as I mentioned above the creation energies are much stongger the days around the full moon then the rest of the days of a cycle. The ability to “bring life” is not just about the birth process of a child but also the calling into existence of all other creations, dreams and desires that want to be realized.
The idea of the moon festival took root in my heart when I become a dedicated yoga prectitioner. During my days as an Ashtangi, I’d found out that Pattabhi Jois also took a so-called rest day during the new moon or the full moon, which was actually not a rest day, but a whole-day puja dedicated to the forces of deities he was worshipping.
The idea of paying more attention to the full moon reappeared throughout the process of healing the grief of my mother’s death as well as during my preparation for motherhood. It become clear to me that without reinterpreting my relationship with the forces of nature I won’t be able to heal all those scars which had been created through the process of letting go my Mum. I was sure that with a greater connection to the unseen forces of nature I will be equipped with the essential tools of giving birth safely and gracefully. And I was right.
Our process of “becoming” is never complete. I will always miss my Mum but I feel more balanced and whole if I honor the forces I am a part of.
So I though I share with you my ideas on how to make this day a little more special!
My general advices:
- First of all, it is important to consider how much time you have!
- I actually like to plan these days so that I don’t focus on one day. I leave myself time for preparation, “being in it” and for integration as well.
- Proceed with small, feasible steps!
- No matter how much time you set aside for this (a conscious hour, a day, or the days), let this time be about feelings and perception, not about thoughts! Stop, look inside! Ask yourself: “What do I really need right now?”
Ideas: (Implement one or two if this is new to you and add more and more over the coming months!)
- When you get up in the morning, consciously state to yourself what you want for today! What would be good? (make yourself a delicious tea, prepare a delicious breakfast, journal)
- Move! Do some nice moving yoga sequence, pranayama, walk, dance to your favorite music.
- Make yourself a massage oil enriched with essential oils – massage your whole body after a refreshing shower, or just your feet (perhaps make a foot bath with EPSON salt)
- Read an inspiring book/ listen something uplifting /make something (drawing, food, other creative activity, etc.).
- Plan what you’re cooking, go to the market, buy the ingredients, buy yourself a bouquet of flowers, enjoy the colors and shapes that surround you, use all your senses to absorb everything that suits you.
- Refresh your home sanctuary by placing fresh flowers, semi-precious stones, candles and other important objects here.
- Organize yourself an inspiring company tonight/celebrate with your girlfriends!
- Buy yourself something small to express your appreciation and celebrate the privilege of being able to.
- Pamper yourself with chocolate and energy balls (recipe below).
- Drink lots of water/make yourself peppermint tea/cucumber water/golden milk (recipe below).
- Meditate! At the end of your meditation visualize yourself in the desired future that you consciously create for yourself every day (see, feel, experience)!
- Make moon water (put it out in the window/or you can put it outside in the summer, filtered water in a bottle, which fills you up with the energies of the moon on the day of the full moon – you can write affirming sentences and positive thoughts on the bottle, which are also energises! You know water has a memory! Drink this moon water in sips over the next few days. Kinesiology or brain control also use this technique (that is, charging up the water with awareness). I also introduced it to my Bach flower therapy practice!
- Let go of your skepticism! Be curious, playful!
- Relax, unwind! Massage your soles, I like a full body massage after the evening shower – I use Abhyanga when I massage my whole body with the massage oil I mix for myself. It becomes “Abhyanga” – /it has a therapeutic effect/, because you go slowly! Massage the areas of your body with oil dropped on your wet hands for a long time, with care, attention and love. The oil can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin only if you massage for a longer time!
- In the evening, before falling asleep, take conscious releasing breaths and formulate thoughts of gratitude! You know the last thoughts and feelings with which you go to sleep ” you have been marinated with “until morning 🙂 Be good to yourself! Set yourself up for success and happiness!
- Don’t stay up too late! Do not use digital devices 2 hours before falling asleep!
Recipes:
Energy balls
When preparing for a women’s circles, I like to take out those recipes that are able to replace the minerals and vitamins that are depleted during the winter. In fact, properly prepared food is much more capable of this than any multivitamin preparation, and in addition, last but not least, you are doing yourself better with it than with pharmacy preparations!
Ingredients:
2 cups of ground walnuts,
1 tablespoon of honey,
5-6 grains of freshly ground cardamom,
a pinch of cinnamon, a pinch of cloves, a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of Himalayan salt,
about 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil or ghee,
2 teaspoons of maca powder,
grated coconut
First, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the honey and coconut oil or ghee. Once it has formed, you can roll the finished balls in grated coconut and you can also add grated coconut to the dough if you like.
Shape into walnut-sized balls. When ready, put it in the fridge.
Attention! It will be very tasty, but still stop and only have a maximum of one or two per day because in small quantities it can have a healing effect, but in large quantities it can be just to much for your body!
Golden milk

Ingredients:
- Raw- Oat- Rice or Coconut Milk (or the milk you like!)
- small teaspoon of Turmeric
spices:
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper (increases absorption)
Tiny piece of fresh, peeled ginger root or ¼ tsp ginger powder
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Boil the turmeric in little water for at least 8 minutes, then add the milk and heat it together. If you want to use the spices roast them in coconut oil and add to the golden milk before sweetening.
To sweeten add raw honey or maple syrup. I love without sweetening as well!
Until next time,
Be well, Be resorceful!
Love, Viki
