Why Seventh Series?
Pattabhi Jois encouraged us, in addition to practicing the daily Ashtanga sadhana, to become a family man. No matter how challenging it may be to master and practice a series of Ashtanga Yoga on a regular basis, the real practice begins here. He also emphasized many times that everyone should practice as much and what they need.
I myself became a mother after ten years of daily practice. Currently* (*in 2023) as the mother of a four and a half year old wonderful little girl, I am applauding the challenges of the seventh series. (The series of everday living) Like many of Ashtanga practitioners, for many years I was passionate about my progress in mastering each series. For a long time, I thought of motherhood as a set back that would stall me in my daily practice. But this approach had been changing since I’ve become a parent myself…
In the writtings of Ashtanga Connections I share easy tools to improve or establish your every-day yoga practice (you can apply to this sharings to any kind of yoga style) and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle I share my experiences of motherhood as a yogini.
Practice, practice, practice! The rest will come!
